Executive Duties

i. Work with the Accessibility Officer to create a YL Strategic Response to the Alderdice Review, and implement this across YL.
ii. Attend all YL meetings and speak on matters relating to their role such as the implementation of the Alderdice strategy, and the plans and actions of other members of the Executive when it concerns or could affect BAME individuals and communities.
iii. Liaise with relevant SAOs and AOs, especially LDCRE, to ensure YL is promoting an experience which is positive and inclusive for BAME members of Young Liberals.

Bio

Pushkin became a member of the Liberal Democrat Party in 2017 when he was 13 years of age. He attended his first political conference in Oxford where the Young Liberal Democrats was holding its 2018 winter hibernate. He later attended Federal Spring Conference in March 2019 where he gave a speech and campaigned in favour of Vince Cable’s internal party reforms.

From June 2019-March 2020 Pushkin was Youth Officer for the Green Liberal Democrats (GLD) and in June 2019 he organised and was Chair of the first ever youth panel for the annual GLD conference. He also organised and chaired the GLD youth panel at the Federal Autumn Conference in September 2019 entitled ‘Passing The Torch – inspiring the next generation to lead on environmental matters.’

In July 2019 to date, Pushkin was elected as an Executive Member of The Radical Association. During the last general election in December 2019, Pushkin was deputy campaign field Co-ordinator for St Ives Lib Dems during the final week of campaigning.

In January 2020 to date, Pushkin was appointed Head of Digital Communication for ‘Liberals for EFTA’. From August 2019 – February 2020, he was Marketing Advisor and Podcast Contributor for ‘Politika’ and in February 2020 he went on to become Environmental Spokesperson and Podcast Host for ‘Centre Think Tank’. In June 2020 he was appointed BAME officer for YL.

Outside of politics Pushkin is active in charity work and volunteers at the local outlet of the British Heart Foundation and has also taken part in fundraising for the Stroke Association. He is pursuing his gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards and has international rowing experience. He is also into acting and attends the annual Guildhall School of Music and Drama West End Stage Summer School.
