James joined the Liberal Democrats in 2015 and has worked for the party as both a Field Campaign Assistant and a Campaign Organiser in the West of England. In 2019 James won his council election to become the youngest councillor on South Gloucestershire Council where he represents over 3000 students on UWE Frenchay Campus. Outside of politics James is a poor but ambitious cook (his words, not ours!) and an avid Leeds United fan.
