Monthly Update

Doesn't time fly by? There are now only 40 days until May's massive round of elections! Here at Young Liberals we're taking things up a notch, so here's a long (but important!) update about what we're up to.

Elections and Co-Options

The results of our by-elections are in. Our new officers are:

Co-Chairs: Tara Copeland and Callum Robertson
Policy Officer: Janey Little
International Officer: Peter Banks
BAME Officer: Arthur Wu

You can find out more about members of our executive team and their roles on our website.

The co-option process for our Campaigns Officer and various committees are still taking place. In the meantime if you need campaigns support, please contact Aleisha Stansfield and/or Thom Campion who are acting as our Co-Interim Campaigns Officers.

Young and Winning

Everyone who applied to Young and Winning has now been emailed with all the relevant information. Please email [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

There were a record number of applications this year. We're really excited to have granted £3,500 in election support, and to have developed a whole load of other support for Young Liberals councillors and candidates.

February Blog Post

Our online conference in February was officially YL's biggest conference ever, with nearly 400 registrations! Huge thanks to everyone who came, it was absolutely fantastic (even if the conference team's sleep schedules are still recovering...)

We've popped some of the highlights into a quick video for you all - maybe you'll spot yourself?

We also had a great time at Lib Dem Spring Conference. Both of the policies we submitted passed, and our training and fringe events went really well. Check out #YLatConf to see what we got up to!

In a lot of places, you can now get out canvassing and delivering ahead of May's elections. Whatever you're getting up to campaigns-wise, we'd love to hear about it.

Make sure you pop a photo or post on social media and tag it #YLWinningHere so we can hype you up and show the wider party what a campaigning machine YL can be.

Phone Banking

It was brilliant to see so many of you at our State Showdown phone banking competition! We made hundreds of calls, which will help Lib Dems win right across the country.

You can join our Phone Action Team to stay in the loop with all of our phone campaigning.

Campaigning Going Forward

Depending on where you are in the country, you may now be allowed to campaign in *shock horror*... the outside world! It has been fab to see loads of YL members out delivering leaflets and canvassing.

You can find out how to get stuck in with campaigning in your local area through your local Liberal Democrats. Not sure how to get in touch with them? Just pop your postcode in to this tool!

No-Detriment Campaign

We're still running our no-detriment campaign for university students.

Rejoin Erasmus+ Campaign

We have launched a massive cross-party campaign to rejoin the Erasmus+ scheme.

Lib Dem Women

The team at Lib Dem Women have launched a fund to support female Lib Dem candidates in May's elections.

It's really important to keep gaining new campaigning skills (and brushing up on your existing ones!) in the run up to May's elections.

The Young Liberals have launched our very own training programme, Training Tuesdays, to give your campaigns a boost! Check out all the sessions here:

And as always, you can find ALDC and Lib Dem HQ's training on their websites:

Well done if you made it to the end of this massive email! We've got some really exciting stuff coming up this month, so keep an eye on your emails and our Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Facebook group 👀

All the best, and happy campaigning!
