i. except as otherwise set out in this Constitution, be the primary spokesperson of SYL, and be SYL’s primary point of contact with the Party.
ii. entitled to be the SYL representative on the executive committees of the Party and the YL.
iii. work with the Treasurer to draft and present the annual budget to the Executive for approval.
Originally from the Scottish Borders, Jack joined the Scottish Liberal Democrats in 2016 in part due to the party’s stance on climate change. He has stood for election twice for council and in the 2019 General election against Mhairi Black.
He now works for the Highland Liberal Democrats, and worked on Molly Nolan’s Holyrood campaign, and the twin Highland by-election wins secured by the Lib Dems in August 2021.
Jack has been Scottish Young Liberals Chair since 2020, and takes keen interest in issues such as climate change, transport, and opposing Scottish nationalism.
