Honorary Officers of the English Young Liberals
Every two years, EYL elects an Honorary President, and has the option to elect up to three Honorary Vice-Presidents. The Executive proposed the following appointments at the Young Liberals Summer Conference 2026 in Manchester, with members of the English Young Liberals voting to ratify these appointments for two years.
Honorary President: Prue Bray
Prue Bray was a long serving member of the Party in England, and now sits on the Federal Board. Prue was elected as an EYL HVP at the Young Liberals Summer Conference 2023 in Newcastle, and appointed Honorary President at the Summer Conference 2026 in Manchester.
Honorary Vice-President: Joshua Reynolds MP
Elected in the 2024 General Election as the MP for Maidenhead, Joshua Reynolds is the Liberal Democrat's current youngest MP! To recognise his achievements in national politics, Joshua was made an EYL HVP at the 2024 Summer Annual General Meeting, and re-appointed at the 2026 Summer AGM.
Honorary Vice-President: Cllr Carl Cashman
Carl Cashman was appointed as EYL HVP at Young Liberals Summer Conference 2026 in Manchester. Carl is currently a councillor in Liverpool, where he has built a strong local party executive of young candidates and recruited a diverse set of young members to stand for council.
Honorary Vice-President: Penny Lewis
Penny Lewis was the Regional Chair for Devon and Cornwall and championed young people, and measures that would make politics more accessible to young people, during her executive. Penny was appointed as an EYL HVP at the Young Liberals Summer Conference 2026 in Manchester.
